The idea
Ambra is "a café built around one cup": the idea is that the building came second, after the cup in your hands. The site had to make the walk to that cup felt, from the open door to the first sip, before anyone reads the menu.
The site
A site told as one walk: through the open door, past the bar, into the pour ("Eleven seconds."), along the shelf and out to the terrace ("Your seat is already warm."). The small menu, the three rooms and the visit follow, with "find your seat" as the way in.

The detail
The type is a tall serif with italic accents over warm daylight and oak. The chapters are numbered, and a quiet line at the foot of each screen says where you are. It shows what a café can feel like on a screen.
